Its industrial-inspired base is made from anodized aluminium with a columned detailing; a cream-coloured canvas shade sits atop. This battery-powered lamp can operate for eleven hours at the highest setting, with an extra battery option that allows additional operating. It is easily recharged with a magnetic USB cable or a charging tray.

The Pavilion bar & counter chair has an airy feeling, with fluid curves for the wood veneer seat and back which continue as lyrical lines in the steel tubes of the legs. The result is a silhouette that’s barely there. Ideal for furnishing an expansive bar or a kitchen counter without appearing crowded, they can easily fill a space without the space appearing full. “Tube chairs had their start in early modernism, but they were usually constructed at fixed angles,” notes Anderssen & Voll. “We wanted to explore a more open construction, a freer form of expression.”

Located on the castle grounds of Copenhagen’s Kastellet overlooking the waterfront promenade that is home to the Little Mermaid, The Langelinie Pavilion stands with a resilient spirit. The first Pavilion was built in 1885. Echoing its own ability to endure is the Pavilion chair by Andersen & Voll. Here the challenge was to design a stackable chair used for mass seating in this iconic, multi-purpose venue, the Langelinie Pavilion. The Pavilion chair has an airy feeling, with slim arms and legs that give it a light appearance. Now available in a contemporary chrome frame.

East meets West in Jaime Hayon’s playful tweak of a traditional Asian lantern in contemporary expression. Dating back centuries, paper lanterns have featured in Asia amongst the privileged and the poor, where different colours, shapes and sizes connote different meanings. Here Hayon has dispensed with cultural formalities to create a series of lamps all in white. Hand crafted with rice paper merging various sizes and shapes together. The series is comprised of three different lantern versions and a table lamp in ivory white rice paper with black stained oak accents.

Cloud combines the Italian and Danish traditions of making sofas and lounge chairs with the defined shape of the Danish design tradition and the soft and cosy pillows of the Italian one. Jørgen Kastholm (1931-2007) and Preben Juhl Fabricius (1931-1984) were driven by a mutual mission to make form a pure derivative of function. Both were architects, graduating from the Danish School of Interior Design where they studied under Finn Juhl and subsequently with Arne Jacobsen. The P376 pendant lamp is a perfect example of Kastholm & Fabricius’ subtle architectural slant on design. Originally conceived in 1963, five concentric shades create gradations of curves towards the middle of the lamp to emit a soft, diffused light. The discrete placement of the shades and the silky aluminium finish culminate in a cohesive expression that’s both iconic and enthralling.
