In production since 1972, the Uovo table lamp has achieved a great success thanks to its ironic and elegant design. Established design icon, Uovo is one of the FontanaArt‘s most representative projects. A natural shape that has always been a symbol of perfection, in which symmetry and asymmetry coexist harmoniously. The shell contains a light source: an ironic idea that still conquers today. As in nature, even in the Uovo lamp the shell is an absolute example of lightness: an elegant shape in satin white blown glass, which uniformly diffuses a warm and enveloping light. In the three sizes available there is all the versatility of a collection designed for multiple uses: from a tiny service lamp - in the smaller version - to a luminous sculpture, the protagonist of the space, in the larger version. With the FontanaArte 2021 Collection, Uovo is again available in the outdoor version.
LUNAIRE

Lunaire is a wall and ceiling lamp with a surprising light effect, reminiscent of the phenomenon produced by eclipses. A smaller front disc containingthe light source is set inside a large concave aluminium diffuser.Two different effects are possible depending on how the small discis positioned with respect to the diffuser: back lighting when the front disc is closed, in other words pushed towards the wall, or from insidethe diffuser when the disc is pulled forward. Simply pulling or pushing the rod on the front of the disc immediately changes the lightingeffect to suit the mood. Thanks to the large diameter of the diffuser, Lunaire is the perfect lighting solution for big areas,they residential or contract.

Bianca is a family of luminaires with the decoration on the diffuser surface features an orderly series of shallow delicate grooves etched into the white glass, yielding an effect resembling small footprints on fresh snow. Mouth blown, belt sanded and dipped in acid to obtain the distinctive 'silk effect' typical of fine glassware, Bianca diffusers are available in three different diameters to complete all thirteen types of luminaires belonging to the family. The largest diffuser has a 50 cm diameter and, owing to its dimensions and the amount of glass involved, continues to pose a considerable challenge even for the ablest of glassbbottoms trained in the fixed-mould blowing technique, which – according to the traditional Venetian production process – is performed without any external aids for turning and shaping the glass blob inside the mould, but relies solely on the glassbbottom's skill and lung capacity. Bianca is available in the following versions: table-top without stem, floor-standing with base and stem, pendant, wall-mounted and ceiling-mounted. The matt white coating applied to the various metal supports evokes the name and colour of the diffuser. Bianca produces a very warm, diffused and enveloping light emission in the surrounding environment.

Half vase, half lamp, Giova marks the debut of Gae Aulenti in the field of lighting design. Available in two sizes, it is both a lamp and a luminous sculpture. Positioned on a metal base is a transparent bowl containing a sphere, which in turn houses the light source. Placed above is a smaller bowl in blown pulegoso glass, meaning ‘with irregular bubbles’, which serves as a bottom vase.
FONTANELLA MEDIUM

Two materials: metal and glass, as in the historic tradition of FontanaArte. The metal acts as a base and contains the light source while the glass, the true protagonist of the project, is expertly worked by skilled craftsmen in a process of fusion between a portion of transparent glass and a satin one from which the light diffuses. Fontanella is formed by the union of two glasses: the internal tube is threaded, sandblasted and finally joined with the bubble-shaped blown glass. What makes the processing particularly refined is the manual joining of the two parts, which requires the skillful technique of a craftsman. Furthermore, the glass, which has always been the material par excellence of the FontanaArte product, is the most crystalline on the market. The use of light bulbs, dimmable and not dimmable, for the biggest energy saving, complete the contemporaneity of this FontanaArte piece.
RILUMINATOR

Riluminator is the makeover of Luminator designed by Pietro Chiesa in 1932. This lamp shares with the classic icon floor lamp not only its geometric, torch-like shape, but also the direction of its light source. Produced with “rotation” technology, the body is cylindrical at the base, opening out as it rises to create a cone-shaped trunk that characterizes the design of the object, it houses and hides the LED light source. ALICANTO

Its name comes from Chilean mythology, Alicanto, a nocturnal bird that is said to live in the Atacama Desert and has the peculiarity of feeding exclusively on gold and silver. According to the fable, its feeding makes it unable to fly but makes its wings glow with golden reflections. The miners, seeing its light in the dark, would follow it and thus find gold. It was therefore the image of this bird capable of lighting up the night, about to take flight but firmly set on the ground, that suggested the inspiration when it came to finding a name for a new lamp characterized by a slight forward imbalance: its arched shape is all projected to carry the light, almost as if to «extend» it, as far as possible. An elegant and sophisticated fitting, Alicanto is a contemporary lamp, solid and light, with an innovative design that is capable of adapting to cutting edge furnishings without departing from the FontanaArte philosophy, in balance between art and industry, suspended between clarity and durability. Equatore is a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic lamp with a glass shade. While the traditional abat-jour uses the shade to contain the light source within, in this family of lamps the shade is paradoxically and suggestively empty, with the light being generated by two luminous discs placed inside a central metal band, visible on the shade, that evokes the line of the equator. The light produced by the Leds, thanks to internal screens arranged in layers, is distributed regularly across the surface of the discs, magically illuminating them. The bottom disc directs the light output downward, the upper one illuminates the glass cap for a soft, diffused light. Available in table, floor and ceiling models, in two sizes and two colors: a cooler version in gray with a dark chrome frame, and a warmer version with a transparent dove gray cap and a copper-colored frame.

The diffuser is manufactured using the ancient caged blown glass technique: the glass maker blows the molten glass blob into a metal cage, which only partly contains the blob's natural expansion. In this way, the glass surface is partly trapped by and partly escapes the cage, generating an impression of tension as the object struggles to free itself from its harness; the cage is further enriched by the galvanic treatment that makes it look glossy and brilliant. The transparent version, in particular, reveals a two-fold structure that multiplies the scenic effect, while the metal cage pattern projects kaleidoscopic shade effects on the surrounding surfaces. On the contrary, in the white version the glass delicately envelops the cage surface and enhances its geometric pattern, generating an elegant and visually pleasing diffused light. The lighting fixture makes a highly appealing and striking impact either switched on or off.

FontanaArte calls Stefano Boeri Architetti and launches "lasospesa", the new table lamp. For one of the most important Milanese architects in the world, whose Bosco Verticale is one of the most representative and iconic projects of our time, trying a lamp was an interesting change of scale. Like FontanaArte: historic and contemporary Milan, elegant entrances and new buildings, fashion and major art exhibitions. Like FontanaArte's art: it finds form in an object that does not preclude function and from which a light comes to life. lasospesa is in fact a symmetrical table lamp, born from the elementary principle of the incorporation of two cylinders: a cylinder of primary light suspended in a cylinder of diffused light. "A non-lamp with numerous uses and iridescent luminosity, very simple and classic, lasospesa seems to have always been there, where you placed it" says Stefano Boeri.

Blom is a small table lamp by Andreas Engesvik, a Norwegian designer who has made a name for himself on the international scene thanks to his ability to instil emotions, appeal and ideas into everyday objects. Taking up very little space, just 24 cm tall with a diameter of 15 cm, Blom is a light, fun lamp that is easy to pick up and move and suitable for any purpose. Its name, a contraction of the word blomst, which in Norwegian means flower, is inspired by its petal shaped blades. Intensity can be adjusted thanks to the two petals that gently embrace the diffuser, rotating on the base to shield the glare depending on personal requirements: with the petals aligned the lamp emits maximum light. SETAREH METAL MEDIUM

This is the name of the family of lighting fixtures that Francesco Librizzi, a young Sicilian architect working in Milan, has designed for the first time for FontanaArte. Setareh was born of the idea of giving form to light. The lamp is composed of a sphere magically suspended within a thin metal structure. The play of circular masses and trajectories generates a balanced design of gravitational dynamics. The light from the sphere is diffused into the surrounding space, illuminating the frame. The reflections of the metal render the luminous field visible, space influenced by light, by its aura. The result is a collection of lighting elements, available in tabletop and suspension versions, of extraordinary poetic grace. Setareh takes on new dimensions: elongated, with either two or three spherical elements that work separately or together. Its vocation is the illumination of large spaces, with double-height ceilings or otherwise ample enough to accomodate expansive compositions of multiple elements. A firmament of Setareh, ‘star’ in the ancient Farsi language.
