Danish architect Bodil Kjær created the Indoor-Outdoor Series BK15 dining table in 1959. It is part of a larger collection of expertly crafted and proportioned furniture, the designs of which were inspired by Cubism and contemporary architecture. Set at the perfect height for the dining chairs in the series, the BK15 dining table is made from solid teak, which can withstand harsh weather and develops a beautiful patina with age. In keeping with the rest of the collection, a fine-boned yet sturdy construction makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor living.
Plexi Angelo Mangiarotti, 1962

Italian architect, sculptor, and designer Angelo Mangiarotti designed the Plexi lamp in 1962, but at the time it was only produced in small quantities. Plexi can be used as a single piece or grouped together. The Plexi thrives in grand spaces, preferably grouped together with other Plexi’s as an impressive chandelier, so the size alone makes it a relevant choice for grand halls or high ceilings, and in hotels, restaurants, lobbies, and corporate domiciles. However, even a single Plexi can be transformative as it will cast its elegant style to any room. The Plexiglas conducts the light from one end to the other, not only emanating light throughout each cylinder but also producing a direct light from the lower end. The lower end of each cylinder has been sandblasted to cast a wider light onto the surface beneath the lamp.

The architect and designer Alexander Girard was one of the leading figures in American design during the post-war era. His passion for colours, patterns and textures found expression in the field of textile design, which was a focal part of his oeuvre. Many of his figures and patterns exude a cheery playfulness, and even his simplest graphic motifs possess a high degree of differentiation. Among Girard’s most well-known works is the interior design of the New York restaurant La Fonda Del Sol (1960). The restaurant's central motif was the sun, whose countless variations adorned every detail of the interior. The 'Coloring Book' contains a variety of playful suns by Alexander Girard, which will inspire both young and old to draw and paint for hours on end!

The architect, engineer and designer Jean Prouvé was intent both in his architectural and design work on employing highly-advanced metal working techniques to create innovative constructions and shapes. He played an influential role in developing a construction method for architecture based on lightweight prefabricated sections, and drew amongst other things on this knowledge of aircraft and car construction. In 1947, he set up his own company Ateliers Jean Prouvé, which not only produced these lightweight elements, but also his own furniture designs.<br/><br/>In 1955, Prouvé took part with the support of the French designer group Union des Artistes Modernes, in a competition for the furnishing of a student residence in Antony near Paris. Collaborating with Charlotte Perriand, he produced an exemplary furniture series for the leisure area, the cafeterias and a series of rooms in the student residence. His series included the chair shown here, which Prouvé had designed a similar version of for Strasbourg university as early as 1950.<br/>

Adapting this process to the centuries-old glass craft technique enabled a contemporary design that is unique for every single piece of hand-blown glass.

Superquadra

Designed by Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan / studio mk27, the Superquadra furniture line takes its name from the pilot town planning design by Lúcio Costa with Oscar Niemeyer, conceived in 1956 for a residential neighbourhood of Brasilia and presented as a series of basic prefab houses. The square volumes of the famous buildings suspended on agile pilotis are revamped to characterise sideboards, benches, coffee tables, console table and tables of the Superquadra family. The architectural imprint that characterises the airy volumes of the Superquadra storage units, translates into the graphic minimalism of the Superquadra line of coffee tables, benches and console tables. The elements rest on a base with protruding legs, in aluminium with a polished Brandy varnished finish, giving the products an ultra-lightweight look. The discreet design is animated by a mix of fine quality materials - marble, wood, fabric and leather - used for the shelves and seats, and interpreted in a modern, textured style. With Superquadra, Marcio Kogan / studio mk27 reaffirms the identity of a style with its roots in the 1950s, sporting a mix of characteristics balanced between the past and the present. The benches, characterised by different densities of cushioning, are available in two heights (cm 34 and cm 42) and come in four versions: with all-fabric or leather covering (cm 126x128), with seat paired with a top in Dark Brown stained palisander Santos (cm 126x128), with seat set beside a top in Calacatta or Sahara Noir marble (cm 182x58) or with two tops, in solid wood and Calacatta marble or in wood and Sahara Noir marble (cm 182x102). The furnishing accessories are characterised by their bold textures, clearly visible in the versions that feature a distinctive top in a combination of marble and solid wood.
