The 1956 Drawn chair by Hvidt & Mølgaard stands out as a definitive piece of Danish design. Built upon traditional craftsmanship techniques and made out of organic materials, it brings a sense of wholesome honesty to any space. Available in oiled oak, oiled walnut and the newest addition of black lacquered oak. It comes in two versions: a wider model with arm rests, or one without. Additionally, a cushion in either Prescott black or cognac coloured leather is offered for a softer seating experience.

Designed by Space Copenhagen, this series of ceramic vases explores the unpredictable nature of the glazing process, which sees each vase as a unique creation. Each vase has two different glazes – one outside, another inside – that melt together at their meeting point. They are available in three sizes, each with its own coloured glaze.

With the Bellevue Lamp, Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen embodies the minimalism of the Modernist Movement with the functionalism of Bauhaus. Viewed as the driving force behind Danish Modernism, Jacobsen’s preference for graceful lines and simple, organic forms are readily recognisable in the Bellevue lamp. The re-launch of this iconic lamp involves a return to the original Bellevue shape in four styles: the floor, wall, plug-in, and table lamp.

Initially introduced back in 1938, Little Petra won instant praise at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers Guild Exhibition, subsequently winning awards at exhibits in New York and Berlin. It’s one of just a few designs by architect Viggo Boesen, who became associated with Denmark’s signature design aesthetic in the 1930s called funkis style. Little Petra is surprisingly petite, able to fit into all kinds of spaces, interiors and environments. Low to the ground, open and embracing, it embodies the essence of a lounge chair, allowing for all kinds of seating positions in any cosy setting imaginable.

The addition of the pouf to the Inland collection adds another level to the set; the ability to sit back and put your legs up builds on the visual experience of a floating silhouette. The Collect rugs are crafted by skilled artisans in Bikaner, India, with the undyed natural wool woven on a handloom. The work and expertise invested into each rug underscores the artistry of the piece that can be found in both Collect's design as well as the weaving process itself. At first glance, the Pavilion lounge chair appears almost like a rope that’s come undone. From the curvaceous wood veneer seat and back to the steel tubes that form the armrests and legs, it’s a continuous flow of lyrical lines. When Jaime Hayon started working on Catch, he drew a man with open arms, like a chair that wants to catch you - and the chair works like that. &Tradition’s collaboration with Jaime Hayon dates to when the company was founded in 2010, and Catch was the first product to come out of the exchange between Hayon and &Tradition in 2013. The Catch-series now involves chairs with both wooden legs and swivel base, bar and counter and two different lounge chairs.

The Pavilion bar & counter chair has an airy feeling, with fluid curves for the wood veneer seat and back which continue as lyrical lines in the steel tubes of the legs. The result is a silhouette that’s barely there. Ideal for furnishing an expansive bar or a kitchen counter without appearing crowded, they can easily fill a space without the space appearing full. “Tube chairs had their start in early modernism, but they were usually constructed at fixed angles,” notes Anderssen & Voll. “We wanted to explore a more open construction, a freer form of expression.”

Named after the Betty Nansen theatre in Copenhagen, this stool’s sturdy frame is crafted from lacquered oak. The webbed seat – whose straps are made from natural linen fibres and woven by hand – offers a soft, cushioned base. The Betty stool is available in two heights and the choice of four colour combinations: Maroon lacquered ash with natural webbing; Lacquered solid oak with natural webbing; Black lacquered ash with natural webbing; and Black lacquered ash with black webbing.

At first glance, Lato resembles a sculpture, with its slim, oval or round table top balanced by an oval-shaped base. Striking, graphic and poetic, its purity of form is proof that simple is sophisticated. With Lato, Nichetto wanted to keep the simplicity and streamline into a timeless side table in a style that could easily be the centre of attention. Since its release the Lato table’s base has been available in either Emperador Marble or Crema Diva Marble, but the latest addition now sees its sculptural form offered in a green tinted, Verde Alpe Marble with a Deep green powder coated steel tabletop.

Space Copenhagen ́s Fly series signals a sculptural approach to design without sacrificing comfort. Referencing a classic Nordic aesthetic, details and techniques, seen in the slatted wood backrest, organic shapes and solid craftmanship. Fly is a series that allows the users to sit, lie, rest, and relax. Unlike many of the sofas and easy chairs in Scandinavian design history, Fly does not impose any particular posture onto the sitter. The seat itself is optimized for comfort, with loose cushions for the back that can be arranged according to the user’s own needs.

Here the challenge was to design a stackable chair used for mass seating in this iconic, multi-purpose venue, the Langelinie Pavilion.
