Yoko "Cord" Outdoor Dining
minotti > Outdoor furniture
The Yoko seat evolves to become the Yoko Cord Outdoor project by Japanese-Scandinavian duo Inoda+Sveje, composed of an armchair, dining little armchair, bench footstool - with and without upholstery - and coffee table with top in Basaltina stone, all with a natural teak frame. The seat and backrest are strung with Ecru or Dark Brown polyester cord on which the soft cushions, upholstered with fabrics from the 2022 Textile Outdoor Collection, rest. The seat and the top of the bench footstool are strung with a balanced weave that gives the natural allure of handcrafted workmanship in line with the classic principles of stringing; a special teak frog feature has been applied in continuity with the finish of the frame to better secure the cushions to the seat and the backrest. A Bronze detail adorns the wooden frame of these furnishing pieces, embellishing them yet maintaining their silent elegance intact: it is a particular joint, located between the frame and the rear vertical legs whose coupling is enhanced by a varnished Bronze colour button.
Lido "Cord" Outdoor Dining
minotti > Outdoor furniture
The Lido family, by the GamFratesi studio, is a design that perfectly expresses Minotti’s will to create a single design for different indoor and outdoor environments: the technology and material that go into the pieces define their intended use. The Lido Cord Outdoor family is composes of a semi-curved lounge sofa, a linear two-seater sofa, an armchair, a dining little armchair and a lounge little armchair, with an enveloping design reminiscent of a comfy nest, also complemented by a bench and an ottoman. The frame of the backrest is in Bronze-coloured painted stainless steel, and it is covered with polypropylene cords in tones that can span from the more traditional shades of Sand, Dark Brown and Black, to brighter shades such as Citron, Dark Blue and Teal. All colours - with the exception of Black, which gives the piece character and a strong identity- related to images of faraway landscapes that bring freshness to this family of outdoor furnishing pieces with a look inspired by the 1950s. The semi-curved lounge sofa, in particular, is characterised by a Bronze varnished aluminium base with polished anti-touch finish, the ultimate distinguishing mark of its bold sculptural look: on one hand it offers a formal seat, on the other its depth is extended, becoming a bergère, with backrest in the shape of a soft nest. A veritable invitation to lie back and relax in a cosier, more relaxing way. The other elements of the family, on the other hand, rest on legs in Dark Brown solid mahogany, or solid teak, while the coffee tables reiterate the design of the X-shaped aluminium sofa base of the semi-curved lounge sofa. The coffee tables come in four sizes and two heights, with circular or square top in brushed, fine-grain Basaltina stone, which rests on the crib-shaped base.
Torii Nest "Outdoor"
minotti > Outdoor furniture
Designed for indoor environments in 2020, Torii Nest migrates to open-air living spaces, bringing to life an entire family of seats. With structural details linked to Japanese tradition, the chairs and sofas play with round edged volumes, thin profiles and the apparent formal simplicity of an extremely intricate design. The painted tubular steel frame of the woven cord backrest in the shades Ecru, Dark Brown and Oil Green sports a design inspired by cane, but with a larger mesh that lets light and air through. It sits on a base in natural teak or Dark Brown mahogany, supported by painted aluminium legs with a shiny, Bronze-coloured, anti-touch finish. With its sophisticated, light look, Torii Nest Outdoor comes in pieces of different sizes and types, from fixed and swivel armchair to two-seater sofa with curved silhouette and round chaise-longue, all designed to meet a variety of requirements, both in terms of functionality and ergonomics. The ethereal appearance of these furnishing pieces dialogues harmoniously with their extreme materiality: the backrest, an enveloping nest, embraces and encloses the soft cushions resting on a solid natural teak frame. A succession of materials with a strong tactile impact and a welcoming feel, as if these sofas were primarily places in which to let go and relax. A design that is at times romantic and at times contemporary, thanks to its compact proportions, it easily fits into the decor on metropolitan terraces and in hospitality settings, satisfying both the most classic and the most modern aesthetic tastes.

Miniatures MR 20

During the mid-twenties, tubular steel won favor among avant-garde designers as a preferred material for furniture design. The most important designs for tubular steel, now regarded as classics of modern furniture design, were created within the course of just a few years. <br/><br/>During preparations for the Weissenhof exhibition in Stuttgart, Mart Stam developed a new chair type, the tubular steel chair with no back legs. In order to counter the possible instability of the cantilevered frame, Stam reinforced the steel tubing at critical angles, thereby creating a strong, but rigid structure. It was Mies van der Rohe who first discovered the elasticity of steel tubing and utilized it as a structural principle.<br/><br/>Inspired by Stam's idea, he designed the first flexible cantilevered chair in the history of design in 1927. The model was produced both with and without armrests under the names MR 20 and MR 10, respectively. The tubular steel furniture of the 1920s represents a rejection of the conventional, overladen bourgeois interior of the time, filled with massive furniture and decorative trinkets. The transparency and structural clarity of tubular steel furniture embodies a new ideal in architecture and design: interior space flooded with natural light.

Caryngo easychair
swedese > Armchair
Caryngo was a rare collaboration between Carl Malmsten and Yngve Ekström, two of the biggest names in Swedish furniture design. It came in 1955 and Malmsten was responsible for the basic design while Ekström was responsible for the detail work, and the first versions went under the name "Model Yngve". The chair was then named Caryngo, which can be derived from an merge of the designers' names, Carl and Yngve. A unique piece of furniture in all its thoughtful simplicity, with a rich history and strong identity. Caryngo is manufactured in solid oak, which can be obtained in oiled, white pigmented and black lazur finish. The armchair is upholstered with saddle leather from Tärnsjö.
Miniatures Art. 41 "Paimio"

In his designs, Alvar Aalto combines the functional ideas of the Bauhaus with the Scandinavian crafts tradition and a strong sense of unity with Nature. This led to an exchange of ideas with Marcel Breuer and later influenced the work of both men. <br/><br/>Aalto designed Armchair No. 41 for the Sanatorium of the City of Paimio in Finland, a building for which he also created the plans and interior design. The armchair is of a simple, highly effective construction, because the rolled-up ends of the seat and back also function as springs – affording the sitter a degree of comfort hitherto unknown in wooden furniture. The armchair was also exceptionally well suited for series production, as it involves very few components and thus little assembly work.
