Classic and contemporary stylistic elements define the Orla sofas and armchairs by Jasper Morrison, a masterpiece of contemporary design that has entered the collection of the Tate Modern, in London. Characterized by soft, sinuous lines, slender shells and generous, comfortable cushions, the Orla series is a tasteful addition to both domestic and contract settings.   The collection is composed of two and three-seaters, a rounded sofa (right or left), small or larger armchairs (fixed and swivelling), poufs. As of 2019, the family also includes a small two-seat sofa.   For Orla sofas and poufs, the structure is made of rigid composite polyurethane foam, with poplar plywood inserts and elastic belts; the Orla armchairs come with a fixed or swivelling structure made of foam. All versions are padded with multi-density polyurethane foam and fibre.   For the armchair and sofas, the cover of the structure is fixed, but removable for the cushions, and is available in the fabrics and leathers of the collection; for the small sofa and small armchair, the cover is fixed for both the structure and the cushions – all of which are also available in the fabrics and leathers in the collection.

Knotted Chair

Knotted Chair

The iconic Knotted Chair is a brilliant adult interpretation of the tiny chairs used to decorate a doll’s house, a visionary creation by designer Marcel Wanders. This project has been officially consecrated by earning a place in the permanent collections of the MoMA in New York, the V&A Museum in London and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. By eliminating the distinction between artisanship and industrial production, Wanders has turned this chair into work of art to be cherished in the home and integrated into our daily lives. The macramé technique that inspired the design of the Knotted Chair has been revisited in a surprising structure made of carbon covered with aramide fibre cord and then coated with epoxy resin. Thus, an innovative object was born, with an intrinsically romantic allure: a collector’s piece, utterly unique in the history of international design.

A further evolution of the icon created by Alessandro Mendini in 1978 for the Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara, the Proust Geometrica armchair incorporates the heritage of the original in this revised technicolour version. A cult object in the design world, the Proust armchair has been reinterpreted here with a fixed cover made of bright multi-coloured fabric designed by Mendini himself. Hand-crafted as always, Proust Geometrica is an armchair that catches the eye with its vibrant colour blocks and uncompromising comfort: a piece that exemplifies the ideal fusion between functionality, formal attention to details and aesthetic research.

A re-visitation of the classic armchair, with elongated oversized proportions, Wanders' Tulip Armchair has a shell made of fibreglass and resin; padded with soft and firm polyurethane foam; the fixed cover is available in a vast array of fabrics and leathers. The calyx shape of the armchair evokes the silhouette of a flower resting on a brilliant swivelling metal base, varnished with natural aluminium.  The Wanders’ Tulip Armchair has obtained Greenguard Gold Certification: a standard that guarantees maximum control of emissions for products designed with the greatest attention to health and wellness.
