The welcoming nest shape of the Lido family of seats by Italian-Danish duo GamFratesi is the hallmark of its design. The curved silhouette that outlines the body on which the padding of the seat sits now also comes in a two-seater sofa version: a compact furnishing piece, ideal for both home and Hospitality spaces. The design, inspired by the 1950s, recalls the typical stylistic marks of Brutalist architectures, here softened by the masterful use of textured fabrics and comfortable, ergonomic cushions. The volume of the sofa is raised from the ground by four solid wood legs, in Moka-coloured open-pore ash or Canaletto walnut with a Dark Brown stained veneer. Alternatively, it can rest on the iconic X-shaped aluminium base with Moka-coloured open-pore ash finish, imbuing this object with timeless beauty and making it easy to pair with the other furnishing pieces in the collection. Handmade in India by skilled artisans, each vessel has unique qualities with every hammer and indentation from stretching and warping the metal being preserved, reflecting the amount of work that’s gone into the design. This watertight silver vessel can be used as a vase and has a shape reminiscent of seedpods. More Information Whilst pitting and welds will be controlled with set tolerances, they will never be completely invisible. The Cityscape console table features six-sided blocks of stainless steel in a three-dimensional intersecting pattern, highlighted by select portions accented in a warm brass finish. A careful research of the many characteristics of this material is the fil rouge to our three solutions, Block, Mold and Plain; these three collections feature different characteristics brought together in the Master Plan.Used by the greatest masters of contemporary architecture, concrete is taking a new role, moving from being a construction material to being a surface finish for architectural projects. Plain stems from analysing concrete in this latter, newer function. The collection stands out for slight clouding and more or less marked patterns, light micro-cracks, that usually form when the concrete volume shrinks by effect of thermal excursion and small holes (pitting) formed by air bubbles trapped between the cast and the formwork. The surface is rich with detailed marks and shades; from a distance it appears as a solid, consistent and compact space.
