TROPICO SMALL
fontanaarte > Wall lamp
The "shape of light" is the central theme of this project by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti, which began with the Equatore family of lamps, presented in 2017 and now expanded to include other finishes, and continues with the new Meridiano and Tropico. Forms of glass and metal that collect, contain and diffuse light in space. Passing between opaline, coloured and transparent layers, emphasised by the refined curves and the magic of blown glass, the light is free to create surprising and fascinating effects, patterns and moods. Tropico is a spherical cap of opaque opaline glass, flattened and fixed by a large mirrored metal boss. The family comprises wall/ceiling and table versions, both available in three different sizes.

Table, floor, wall, ceiling and pendant, THEA is a family of lamps that covers all types of applications, designed for use both in the domestic environment of the home and in the more public and contract spaces of the hotel, restaurant and work sectors.
EQUATORE MEDIUM
fontanaarte > Floor lamp
Equatore is a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic lamp with a glass shade. While the traditional abat-jour uses the shade to contain the light source within, in this family of lamps the shade is paradoxically and suggestively empty, with the light being generated by two luminous discs placed inside a central metal band, visible on the shade, that evokes the line of the equator. The light produced by the Leds, thanks to internal screens arranged in layers, is distributed regularly across the surface of the discs, magically illuminating them. The bottom disc directs the light output downward, the upper one illuminates the glass cap for a soft, diffused light. Available in table, floor and ceiling models, in two sizes and two colors: a cooler version in gray with a dark chrome frame, and a warmer version with a transparent dove gray cap and a copper-colored frame.
GLOBO DI LUCE MEDIUM

TAVOLO CON RUOTE SMALL - 100 X 100
fontanaarte > Side table
An industrial trolley used at the FontanaArte plant to transport glass: this was the object that inspired Gae Aulenti to design her Tavolo con Ruote. It is a specimen of intuitive design that skips the drawing board stage and goes straight from the idea of an everyday item to the prototype stage. This wheeled table replaces the factory trolley’s wooden shelf with a chunky sheet of beveled glass – a tribute to the company’s production history – and fits free-rolling industrial wheels. The nature of the object and its intended use are transformed by replacing just one simple part.

LUMINATOR
fontanaarte > Floor lamp
Luminator is one of the first projects that Pietro Chiesa, then the owner of a workshop in Milan specialized in artistic glasswork, created for FontanaArte, where he would later become artistic director alongside Gio Ponti. The first indirect light floor lamp, Luminator is composed of a thin metal shaft that opens into a cone, inside which is the light source. A single element resting on a circular base, it is a lamp of an almost abstract rigor and purity, and is by far one of the most extraordinary pieces designed by Pietro Chiesa.

PINECONE MEDIUM
fontanaarte > Table lamp
Pinecone is a suspension and table lamp. The diffuser is manufactured using the ancient caged blown glass technique: the glass maker blows the molten glass blob into a metal cage, which only partly contains the blob's natural expansion. In this way, the glass surface is partly trapped by and partly escapes the cage, generating an impression of tension as the object struggles to free itself from its harness; the cage is further enriched by the galvanic treatment that makes it look glossy and brilliant. The transparent version, in particular, reveals a two-fold structure that multiplies the scenic effect, while the metal cage pattern projects kaleidoscopic shade effects on the surrounding surfaces. On the contrary, in the white version the glass delicately envelops the cage surface and enhances its geometric pattern, generating an elegant and visually pleasing diffused light. The lighting fixture makes a highly appealing and striking impact either switched on or off.

FONTANELLA MEDIUM
fontanaarte > Ceiling lamp
Two materials: metal and glass, as in the historic tradition of FontanaArte. The metal acts as a base and contains the light source while the glass, the true protagonist of the project, is expertly worked by skilled craftsmen in a process of fusion between a portion of transparent glass and a satin one from which the light diffuses. Fontanella is formed by the union of two glasses: the internal tube is threaded, sandblasted and finally joined with the bubble-shaped blown glass. What makes the processing particularly refined is the manual joining of the two parts, which requires the skillful technique of a craftsman. Furthermore, the glass, which has always been the material par excellence of the FontanaArte product, is the most crystalline on the market. The use of light bulbs, dimmable and not dimmable, for the biggest energy saving, complete the contemporaneity of this FontanaArte piece.
BOLLA MEDIUM

This suspension lamp is called Bolla because its clear blown glass diffuser has an iridescent appearance that recalls the effect of soap bubbles. It is available in two shapes and sizes.

SETAREH SMALL
fontanaarte > Ceiling lamp
This is the name of the family of lighting fixtures that Francesco Librizzi, a young Sicilian architect working in Milan, has designed for the first time for FontanaArte. Setareh was born of the idea of giving form to light. The lamp is composed of a sphere magically suspended within a thin metal structure. The play of circular masses and trajectories generates a balanced design of gravitational dynamics. The light from the sphere is diffused into the surrounding space, illuminating the frame. The reflections of the metal render the luminous field visible, space influenced by light, by its aura. The result is a collection of lighting elements, available in tabletop and suspension versions, of extraordinary poetic grace. Setareh takes on new dimensions: elongated, with either two or three spherical elements that work separately or together. Its vocation is the illumination of large spaces, with double-height ceilings or otherwise ample enough to accomodate expansive compositions of multiple elements. A firmament of Setareh, ‘star’ in the ancient Farsi language.

BIANCA LARGE
fontanaarte > Floor lamp
Bianca is a family of luminaires with the decoration on the diffuser surface features an orderly series of shallow delicate grooves etched into the white glass, yielding an effect resembling small footprints on fresh snow. Mouth blown, belt sanded and dipped in acid to obtain the distinctive 'silk effect' typical of fine glassware, Bianca diffusers are available in three different diameters to complete all thirteen types of luminaires belonging to the family. The largest diffuser has a 50 cm diameter and, owing to its dimensions and the amount of glass involved, continues to pose a considerable challenge even for the ablest of glassbbottoms trained in the fixed-mould blowing technique, which – according to the traditional Venetian production process – is performed without any external aids for turning and shaping the glass blob inside the mould, but relies solely on the glassbbottom's skill and lung capacity. Bianca is available in the following versions: table-top without stem, floor-standing with base and stem, pendant, wall-mounted and ceiling-mounted. The matt white coating applied to the various metal supports evokes the name and colour of the diffuser. Bianca produces a very warm, diffused and enveloping light emission in the surrounding environment.

ALICANTO
fontanaarte > Floor lamp
Its name comes from Chilean mythology, Alicanto, a nocturnal bird that is said to live in the Atacama Desert and has the peculiarity of feeding exclusively on gold and silver. According to the fable, its feeding makes it unable to fly but makes its wings glow with golden reflections. The miners, seeing its light in the dark, would follow it and thus find gold. It was therefore the image of this bird capable of lighting up the night, about to take flight but firmly set on the ground, that suggested the inspiration when it came to finding a name for a new lamp characterized by a slight forward imbalance: its arched shape is all projected to carry the light, almost as if to «extend» it, as far as possible. An elegant and sophisticated fitting, Alicanto is a contemporary lamp, solid and light, with an innovative design that is capable of adapting to cutting edge furnishings without departing from the FontanaArte philosophy, in balance between art and industry, suspended between clarity and durability. Alicanto is a floor and wall lamp; the latter version is available in two sizes. The product can also be supplied Casambi / Dali ready.
