The "shape of light" is the central theme of this project by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti, which began with the Equatore family of lamps, presented in 2017 and now expanded to include other finishes, and continues with the new Meridiano and Tropico. Forms of glass and metal that collect, contain and diffuse light in space. Passing between opaline, coloured and transparent layers, emphasised by the refined curves and the magic of blown glass, the light is free to create surprising and fascinating effects, patterns and moods. Tropico is a spherical cap of opaque opaline glass, flattened and fixed by a large mirrored metal boss. The family comprises wall/ceiling and table versions, both available in three different sizes.

UOVO OUTDOOR

In production since 1972, the Uovo table lamp has achieved a great success thanks to its ironic and elegant design. Established design icon, Uovo is one of the FontanaArt‘s most representative projects. A natural shape that has always been a symbol of perfection, in which symmetry and asymmetry coexist harmoniously. The shell contains a light source: an ironic idea that still conquers today. As in nature, even in the Uovo lamp the shell is an absolute example of lightness: an elegant shape in satin white blown glass, which uniformly diffuses a warm and enveloping light. In the three sizes available there is all the versatility of a collection designed for multiple uses: from a tiny service lamp - in the smaller version - to a luminous sculpture, the protagonist of the space, in the larger version. With the FontanaArte 2021 Collection, Uovo is again available in the outdoor version.

Nothing more than a sphere, set in an apparently impossible feat of balance, upon a cone that serves as the base. One of Gio Ponti’s many compositional magic tricks, designed in 1932. The counterbalancing of two elementary geometric forms results in an original, perfectly proportioned object. An unpretentious composition, enriched by the extraordinary balance of its proportions and the stylish discretion of non-reflective materials.The light is diffused and valorized by the geometrical simplicity of the design. In designing Bilia, Gio Ponti imagined a smaller version in a range of “spray colours”. From those handwritten notes of the original project, FontanaArte presents Bilia Mini in new breathtaking chromatic variations.
Apex Table Lamp

Taking cues from the classic Bankers Light British designer John Tree merged archetypal references with his contemporary colourful sensibility to create the Apex Table Lamp. The folded steel shades create a peaked roofline silhouette providing the inspiration behind the lamps name as well as offering a graphic contrast to the chrome-plated bases. The round base and angled arm are complemented by a colourful shade that can rotate 360 degrees allowing users to direct light to suit their needs. The Apex Table Lamp offers a functional lighting solution for a multitude of spaces and uses from a task light on a desk to a reading lamp on a bedside cabinet.
