FLOCK OF BUTTERFLIES - Wall-mounted clock _ Vitra - 2d files - 3d files
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
In 1947, American designer George Nelson was commissioned to create a collection of clocks, leading to the iconic Nelson Clocks. Nelson observed that people read time by the position of clock hands, rendering numbers unnecessary, and recognized clocks as decorative elements rather than just timekeepers. This insight inspired the 1949 launch of 14 unique wall and table clocks, characterized by their numberless designs, diverse shapes, vibrant colors, and varied materials. Over the next 35 years, Nelson Associates designed over 100 clock models, including wall, table, and built-in clocks. Following Nelson’s passing in 1986, the Vitra Design Museum acquired his extensive archive, and in 1999, Vitra began reissuing these timeless designs, occasionally adding new pieces to the collection. The Wall Clocks, crafted from wood and metal and powered by high-quality quartz movements, offer a stylish and functional alternative to traditional clocks, with designs to suit every taste. A 3D file of the product is also available for download, allowing for a closer look at its design. Vitra, a Swiss family-owned company founded in 1950 by Willi Fehlbaum, is renowned for its innovative furniture, lighting, and accessories, collaborating with legendary designers like George Nelson to create iconic, functional, and aesthetically pleasing pieces for homes, offices, and public spaces.
