CONE CLOCK - Table-top polyurethane clock _ Vitra - 2d files - 3d files
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Cone Clock, a sleek polyurethane table clock, is part of George Nelson's iconic Desk Clocks collection, originally conceived in 1947 when Nelson reimagined clocks as decorative interior elements rather than mere timekeeping devices. This collection, launched in 1949, introduced 14 unique timepieces characterized by their absence of numbers, focusing instead on the relative position of clock hands and a variety of shapes, colors, and materials. Over the next 35 years, Nelson Associates designed over a hundred clock models, and after Nelson's passing in 1986, his extensive archive was acquired by the Vitra Design Museum, which began reissuing the Nelson Clocks in 1999. The Cone Clock, crafted from brass, acrylic glass, polyurethane, and solid walnut, features a high-quality quartz movement and includes a 1.5-volt battery, with the walnut sourced from Western Europe and/or Poland. A 3D file of the Cone Clock is available for download, offering a digital representation of this timeless design. Vitra, the Swiss family-owned company behind the reissue, is renowned for its innovative and iconic furniture, lighting, and accessories, collaborating with legendary designers like George Nelson to create pieces that blend functionality with modern aesthetics.
