PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Alcove Fauteuil, available in low-back or high-back designs, offers a perfect blend of comfort and functionality, featuring a body with organic fiberboard core panels connected by zip fasteners, a quilted polyester-fiber padded cover, and a sturdy tubular steel frame with chrome-plated or powder-coated finishes. The chair includes steel legs with felt glides and optional lockable castors for added mobility, along with soft 'Lounge' upholstery for relaxed seating. Its structural frame is reinforced with upholstery webbing, while the seat cushion is made of polyurethane foam and polyester fiber, and the back cushions (included) and optional cushion set are filled with polyurethane chips and microfibre. The Alcove Fauteuil’s design emphasizes creating intimate spaces, with the high-back version offering visual and acoustic privacy, ideal for focused work or small meetings. The product line, developed in collaboration with designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, reflects Vitra’s commitment to innovative, micro-architectural furniture solutions. A 3D file of the product is available for download, allowing for detailed visualization and planning. Vitra, a Swiss family-owned company founded in 1950, is renowned for its iconic, modern designs that combine functionality and aesthetics, collaborating with legendary designers like Charles and Ray Eames to create versatile, durable, and stylish furniture for homes, offices, and public spaces.
