Lilla Åland is a true classic in the Stolab range and a favourite that has represented excellent Swedish 20th century design on many occasions. Carl Malmsten was inspired by a visit to the Finnström Church on Åland in 1938, which contained a number of stick-back chairs lined up. He drew them and after a few of his own adjustments and additions, typical of his own style, serial production at Stolab began. Today, the classic Windsor style chair is represented at the Röhsska Design Museum in Gothenburg. Widemar Armchair | Birch

In 1942, Carl Malmsten designed the elegant armchair Widemar on behalf of the lawyer and politician Ingrid Gärde Widemar, who in 1968 became a justice and thus the first female judge in the Swedish Supreme Court. The armchair was manufactured in a few copies, but never went into serial production. Since 2018, Widemar has been manufactured by Stolab. It is a piece of finely honed cultural heritage for our time. Widemar is made from solid birch that is surface treated with white oil. The seat cushion is available in tanned leather from Tärnsjö in the colours Nature, Cognac or Dark Brown.

Pinnockio is made of solid birch and has stable legs that are screwed into the seat. The neat impression is enhanced by the seven back pins that taper together in the solid top piece. It is a chair that, due to its design language, fits many types of tables.

Palle is a stool designed by Yngve Ekström for Stolab during the 1950s. It was a time characterised by stylish shapes and functionality. The stool is made of solid birch and has four wooden legs that are screwed directly into the seat, which makes it stable and useful no matter where it is placed. Due to its soft shapes and generous seat, Palle works great as an extra seat at the table, as a bedside table or for standing on when you need to reach a high shelf.

Lilla Snåland stool is designed by Marie-Louise Hellgren. The stool was the answer to Stolab's efforts to take responsibility for the environment in a distinctive way. Lilla Snåland is produced out of waste material from excellent heartwood from the manufacturing of Lilla Åland's seat. The result of the collaboration between Stolab and the designer was a neat and functional stool, with a seat made of 14 waste pieces and three stable legs. Lilla Snåland has a permanent place in the exhibition at the National Museum in Stockholm, Sweden and is an award-winning and acclaimed stool.

Dipping Light

Beyond its function as a lamp, the Dipping Light seeks to excite. When it’s turned on, its different shades of paint sift the light, creating a magical ambient effect. When it’s off, its colored glass sphere is an object charged with beauty, and eye-catching design piece for a shelf, bedside, or table.Jordi Canudas is an alchemist of light. He experiments with it, seeking always to be surprised and learn from it. He wants to capture the essence of light. With this goal in mind, the Dipping Light was created as yet another experiment – dipping a lit bulb into paint several times – with the end result of this table lamp. The various layers of paint draw concentric circles and capture the light, moderating its intensity. The paint becomes the shade, colouring and texturizing the light. A brass o graphite base is added for support. This artisanal process will make each lamp a unique and exclusive creation. The table version doesn’t settle for just two sizes: the most poetic of lamps offers more uses and comes in a stand-alone portable version and with another diameter – ø20 cm – halfway between the small and the large versions. There is also a choice of finish for the base between brushed brass and graphite, while the colours of the bulb remain the same.

Tip Ton Limited Print

For the Tip Ton Limited Print, designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby have superimposed one of their early sketches in different colour layers in order to convey the movement of the chair in the illustration. The limited print is restricted to 50 numbered copies signed by Barber and Osgerby. The motif is additionally available as a standard poster.

Carl table is designed by Marit Stigsdotter as a tribute to Carl Malmsten and the Lilla Åland Windsor chair, with its soft profile and undulating rim. Just like Lilla Åland, the Carl table has generously rounded edges. It has beautifully turned, flared legs and a chamfered edge around the top. Carl is available with up to four extensions. The table is made in solid birch or oak.   Möbelfakta does not apply to light grey 51.

Miss Holly table is designed by Jonas Lindvall and is part of the series with the same name. The table is based on a simple and eloquent design in solid oak. The Miss Holly series is characterised by a strong solid tabletop with carefully worked edges and legs, which gives it a soft and inviting impression. It also comes with the possibility of up to two extensions on either side. Extension for the Miss Holly table is sold separately.   Möbelfakta does not apply to products with the width of 100 cm.

Inspired by the iconic Lamino, Mino was created by architect Thomas Sandell. The easy chair is based on the shapes and needs of the human body. In its design process, Sandell has started from the question of what functions an easy chair should actually fulfill. The end result is a piece of furniture that bears clear traces of both consideration and care for the person who is supposed to use it, while at the same time the kinship with its predecessor is unmistakable. Mino is perfect for those who appreciate both comfort and aesthetics, and is therefore as pleasant to sit in as it is to look at.
