Designed in 1956-1957 the bookcase is part of the furniture of Gio Pontis private house in Via Dezza in Milan. This re-edition is produced based on the original drawings from the Gio Ponti Archives. It is part of the Molteni&C Gio Ponti Collection. Made from shaped multi-layered material with elm veneer partly with natural transparent finish partly hand-painted in white. Available in the versions with or without applied mirror.

Cleo a new design by the architect and creative director Vincent Van Duysen for Molteni&C is a modular system consisting of various rectilinear angular and self-standing elements that allow for a large number of compositions suitable for all kinds of living. The heart of the project is the frame which is used for each individual component. A harmonious curvilinear shell recalling a cosy place which embraces seat and back without a break. The shell upholstered in textiles or in leather like the seat cushions offers great comfort.

Thanks to their experience in the hospitality field and in exploring the nature of organic forms well beyond any traditional approach Yabu Pushelberg design seating unfettered by the constrictions of excessive modularity and rich in unexpected details. Ideal for residential or hospitality projects such as hotels or offices.

The desk marks the beginning of Wegner’s work on combining sharp steel and sculptural solid wood in elegant and well-balanced solutions.
